My result, discussion and conclusion

I continued my discussion on my scaffold. Summary of it was that i was expecting the most expensive gum to have the longest lasting flavour which was not true at all. And that the cheapest brand gum to have the shortest lasting flavour which was true in some ways. I followed on to my method of how i divided the total pieces in the pack and the total of grams, and how i cut off pieces of the gum, added on and doubled the amount of piece. Then continued on how i done my experiment and the how my experiment was very reliable and how it was exact.
My result was that 5 gum, being the most expensive would have the longest lasting flavour but it did now. It lasted in 2 min and 8 sec. Extra being the second most expensive has the longest lasting flavour. So i can say, extra is truly worth its money. P.K and juicy fruit cost me the same but p.k lasted in 2 min and 11 sec, juicy fruit lasted in 1 min 37 sec. So i would recommend p.k over juicy fruit but i would recommend Extra over any other brands. I could say extra is really worth its money.

My experiment and method

I rode my bike down to the shops and bought 4 well known brands. They did not have hubba bubba so I just another brand called P.K. 5gum cost me $2.50, P.K cost me $1.20, Juicy fruit cost me the same as P.K and extra cost me $2.00. From this point i thought 5 gum would have the longest lasting flavour and juicy fruit or p.k would have the shortest lasting flavour.
My next step was to find out how much grams each piece of gum brand contains. On the package i read that 5 gum had 12 pieces in the package and in total of 32g. So i did the math.
5gum - 32 g \ 12 pieces = 2.7 but i also added a extra 0.1 g in = 2.8 g
p.k - 14 g \ 10 pieces = 1.4g. I then added in another piece of P.K - 1.4 x 2 = 2.8g
juicy fruit - 14 g \ 10 pieces = 1.4g I then added in another piece of Juicy fruit - 1.4 x 2 = 2.8g
extra - 27g \ 14 pieces = 1.9g. I then added in another piece of extra - 1.9 x 2 = 3.8g After that i cut off 0.5g off each extra piece - 3.8 - 0.5 - 0.5 = 2.8g
So now it is even, all pieces are 2.8g each. I took pictures before my experiment for my blog and scaffold.
Then I chewed the gum and recorded the time it finishes its flavour. I drew a table for my result. My result was that extra had 4:10, 5 gum had 2:08, P.K had 2:11, and juicy fruit had 1:37.

My scaffold

In my scaffold i have including, Aims, equipments, hypothesis purpose and research for my experiment. My aim for this experiment to to find out which brand has the longest lasting flavour. And to find out which brand is really worths its money.
The equipment in my experiments are a calculator, knife, All the Brand gums, and a time recorder.
My hypothesis is that the most expensive brand gum would have the longest lasting flavour.
I've included pictures of my experiment. One showing all the equipment together, another picture when i unwrapped the gum and cut off pieces and last on of time recording.
I have included a column graph and a table. Both showing the results of my experiment.

My Research

In my research i found out that on the internet, some people say 5 gum has the longest lasting flavour, some people say Juicy fruit has the longest lasting flavour and extra has the longest lasting flavour. So i got even more curious about my experiment to find out which brand really has the longest lasting flavour.
Another Part of my research is t find out how much each individual piece of gum of each brand contain. And i found out that most pieces of gum contains 2.7 g. But i couldn't find exactly how much 5 gum, extra,  P.K or juicy fruit contains. So my next plan is to buy the gum and read how many grams a whole pack contains and how many pieces there are in the pack. To find out the individual I would divide the Total gram by the total pieces.

About my experiment. " longest lasting flavour "

I have always been interested in which gum brand is the best to buy. I thought of 4 well known brand which are 5Gum, P.K, Juicy Fruit and Extra that are going to compete with each other to find out which brand has the longest lasting flavour. My plan on my experiment is to record the time of how long each piece of gum brand loses its flavour. But to make this experiment fair i plan to cut off pieces of the gum or add on pieces of the gum to make it even.
